Scope and Contents

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is urgently requesting that H.R. 7248, the Occupational Education Act, be amended to provide direct funding to Indian tribes for implementing in-school occupational education/career development programs. They argue that in its current form, Indian tribal councils are not recognized as legitimate governmental entities. The request is signed by Phillip Martin, Chairman of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
