Scope and Contents

Miss Cheryl Hathaway, a student at Central Washington State College, wrote to Senator Fred R. Harris requesting information on the educational difficulties faced by American Indians, both past and present, as part of her research project on intercultural communication. Senator Harris responded by contacting the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Library of Congress to provide resources for Miss Hathaway. The Bureau of Indian Affairs sent educational documents and the Library of Congress provided a bibliography to assist her in her research.
