The letter is from Sylvester J. Tinker, Principal Chief of the Osage Tribe of Indians, expressing support for the establishment of the Carlisle Indian School National Monument in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The letter was acknowledged by Frank Cowan, Jr., Legislative Assistant to Senator Fred R. Harris, who promised to bring the matter to the Senator's attention. The proposed legislation is currently pending in the House Armed Services Committee.
