Ms. Pamela E. Iron, Director of the Indian Health Care Resource Center in Tulsa, expressed appreciation to Senator Dewey F. Bartlett for his efforts in seeking funding for the Indian Health Care Improvement Act. The center is working towards improving the health status of American Indians, especially in urban areas where accessibility to healthcare facilities is limited. They are establishing an urban medical clinic and have submitted a budget to the Indian Health Service for funding. The budget includes costs for labor, materials, supplies, equipment, travel, consultants, and operational expenses, totaling $274,040.00. Senator Bartlett expressed commitment to improving the health status of Indian people and thanked Ms. Iron for her support.
