Oklahomans for Indian Opportunity Launches New Program for Local Self-Determination and Opens Six Urban Satellite Centers, 1974-01-01 - 1975-12-31
Scope and Contents
Oklahomans for Indian Opportunity has launched a new program for local self-determination, opening six new urban satellite centers in different parts of the state. Each center will offer referral information, assistance, training sessions, and business development support. The Marland center has been chosen as one of the satellite centers, with programs focused on education development, work orientation, and home management. The Wright City and Tri-City centers are also reaching grassroots Indian communities and working on job development and business ideas. The centers are aiming to generate funds from local, state, and federal sources to fund needed projects.
