Enquiry about Inheritance Rights to Coal and Asphalt Lands: A Correspondence between Mrs. Woolery and Carl Albert, 1949-06-20
Scope and Contents
Mrs. Woolery wrote to Congressman Carl Albert asking if she would be eligible to receive her deceased husband's share of the per-capita payment to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians for coal and asphalt lands. Congressman Albert advised her to contact the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes Agency in Muskogee, Oklahoma to determine if her husband was enrolled as an intermarried citizen. He offered to help in any way he could.
