Scope and Contents
Mrs. Evelyn Martell received a response from Congressman Carl Albert regarding her request to rush payment to the Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal lands. The Congressman informed her that payment to living enrolled members would begin in July, and he expressed his frustration with the slow progress of the Indian Service. He asked Mrs. Martell to inform her neighbors about the upcoming payments and offered his assistance.
