1947 Correspondence from the Choctaw-Chickasaw Confederation Opposing Legislation on Leasing Coal and Asphalt Lands, 1947-01-01 - 1947-12-31
Scope and Contents
The Choctaw and Chickasaw Confederation is petitioning the Oklahoma Congressional Delegation to oppose proposed legislation that would extend the time for leasing Choctaw and Chickasaw Coal and Asphalt lands for 15 years. They believe this legislation would reduce their chances of selling these holdings, which has been authorized by the National Congress.
