Scope and Contents
The letter is from Congressman Carl Albert to Attorney Gilbert W. Daney regarding the potential creation of a lease on Choctaw-Chickasaw coal lands. Congressman Stigler has introduced a bill to extend the authority to grant leases, but it will not be enacted until after negotiations on the sale of the land have taken place. Albert will keep an eye on the matter and keep Daney informed of any developments.
