Scope and Contents

The letter is in response to a petition opposing legislation to extend the leasing time for Choctaw and Chickasaw lands. The Interior Department plans to have a conference to reach an agreement on the purchase price of the lands, and the writer, Carl Albert, assures the recipient that he will resist any effort to delay the matter.
