Scope and Contents

The Department plans to have a conference with tribal representatives to reach an agreement on a purchase price, which will then be submitted to voters in a referendum and then to Congress. The purchase price will be credited to the Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians and distributed according to the terms of the contract. The Indians may insist on a provision for the distribution of a portion of the purchase price.
