Establishing a Health Care Center for the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma: A 1974 Proposal and Resolution, 1974-01-01 - 1975-12-31
Scope and Contents
The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma is in need of a health care center as the closest medical facility is far away and inaccessible to many tribal members. There is a lack of space, staff, and equipment at the existing health center, leading to the need for referrals and inadequate care. The establishment of a new health center would benefit not only the Seminole Nation but also other tribes in the area. The tribal leaders have passed resolutions to address the need for a health clinic and plans are being made to construct one in the Mekusukey Mission Ground or the city of Wewoka.
