Dropout rates among Indian students in the Chickasaw Nation are higher than the national average, with some schools having rates as high as 22%. Indian children in the area are falling behind in achievement levels compared to white students, and face discrimination from teachers. The community recognizes the need for immediate action to address these educational challenges.
