The document is from Senator Fred Harris' administrative assistant, Jim Monroe, responding to a letter from the Half Moon Staff at Riverdale Junior High School who wanted to donate $135 from a cake sale to a school on an Indian reservation. The Americans For Indian Opportunity recommended the donation be sent to the Rough Rock Demonstration School on a Navaho Indian Reservation. The document assures that Senator Harris will read the letter upon his return. Another letter enclosed in The document is from the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, responding to a program review conducted at Fort Sill Indian School in Lawton, Oklahoma, and informing that some alterations are in order. Senator Harris also sent a letter to Tom Howery, a teacher at Fort Sill School, thanking him for his support and assuring that any action taken will be in the best interests of the education program.
