Inquiry Regarding Seneca Indian Tribe Claims, 1966-08-21
Scope and Contents
The Indian Claims Commission ruled in 1962 that the Creek Nation is entitled to $3,913,000 in compensation from the United States. The case was later dismissed by the Court of Claims and denied by the Supreme Court. Congress approved funds for the judgement in 1965, but separate legislation is needed for distribution. Correspondence regarding the claim should be directed to the Bureau's area office in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
