Scope and Contents

Mrs. Gertrude Lefthand has requested assistance from Senator Fred R. Harris regarding money awarded to her grandchildren in a lawsuit involving the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Senator Harris has contacted the Bureau for more information and will provide assistance once he receives a report. Mrs. Lefthand explains in her letter that the money is meant to support her and her grandchildren, as her daughter, who was a member of the tribe, passed away. The money was awarded in a lawsuit against a trucking company.
