Scope and Contents

The Chickasaws and Cherokees have had a positive outcome in Indian affairs. The Choctaws are working on submitting their tribal election procedures for approval. The Creeks are concerned about their election procedures and the potential exclusion of freedmen from voting. If the elections are not held according to their procedures, the BIA may need to intervene.
