Resolution for Urban Indian Services: Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes, 1971-04-16
Scope and Contents
The Federal Government, through joint action by the Secretaries of Interior and Agriculture, has authorized the release of feed grain by the Commodity Credit Corporation to protect Indian-owned livestock in drought disaster areas in the southwest. The livestock owners are financially unable to secure the necessary feed on their own, and the grain donation is authorized under the Agricultural Act of 1949. The Commissioner of Indian Affairs has been authorized to facilitate the distribution of the free grain to the affected Indian tribes.
