Scope and Contents

Mr. John H. Daniels, a Choctaw Freedman, is seeking assistance regarding his allotted land in Garvin County. He has been facing issues with taxation and ownership of the land. He reached out to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Speaker of the House for help. The Bureau informed that they have no jurisdiction over the lands allotted to Choctaw Freedmen since 1908. The Speaker of the House is trying to assist Mr. Daniels in resolving his land issue.
