Scope and Contents

The document is correspondence between Mrs. J. J. Wassail and the Department of the Interior regarding the sharing of her letters with Chief Belvin. The Department apologizes for the error and assures Mrs. Wassail that her future correspondence will be kept confidential. Mrs. Wassail's previous letter contained accusations against Chief Belvin, which he challenges as false. Chief Belvin denies making certain statements and actions that Mrs. Wassail accused him of.
