Scope and Contents

The Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation, Harry J. W. Belvin, expresses gratitude to Speaker Carl Albert for his continued support and interest in the affairs of the Indian people in Oklahoma. Belvin apologizes for not being able to attend a recent meeting due to his wife's illness, but assures Speaker Albert of his willingness to reciprocate support. Belvin commends Speaker Albert for his courage and dedication to standing up for important issues. Belvin also mentions keeping Speaker Albert informed of the tribe's struggles and expresses appreciation for the delegation's efforts in seeking funds for a survey. Speaker Albert responds with well wishes and updates on the Arkansas river bed matter and the Indian School in western Oklahoma.
