Scope and Contents

Mr. Sim L. Liles received a letter from Fred R. Harris, a U.S. Senator, regarding the dispute over funds for John Johnson, the surviving husband of Flora Homma, Choctaw No. 14657 deceased. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has agreed to leave part of the money in question until Johnson and another party can resolve their claim to it. The Bureau has no objections to this procedure as long as it is agreeable to all parties involved. The letter was also copied to Hon. Fred R. Harris.
