Scope and Contents
The document consists of a series of letters between Mr. Joseph L. Shunkamolah and various government officials regarding a discrimination case he filed. The Bureau of Indian Affairs closed the case based on procedural aspects and Mr. Shunkamolah's rejection of a hearing. Mr. Shunkamolah expressed interest in transferring jobs and was advised to follow up with the personnel officer. Senator Fred R. Harris expressed regret that he could not provide a more favorable reply and assured Mr. Shunkamolah that efforts were being made to conclude the matter.
