Protection of Indian Arts and Crafts: Correspondence between the Oklahoma Indian Arts and Crafts Cooperative and Senator Fred R. Harris, 1965-12-23
Scope and Contents
The Oklahoma Indian Arts and Crafts Cooperative is seeking support for legislation to protect Indian arts and crafts in the state of Oklahoma. They have reached out to Senator Fred R. Harris for his support in working with state legislators to pass this law, as several other states have already done. The cooperative represents ten Indian tribes and is entirely Indian-owned and operated. Senator Harris commends their efforts and suggests they work with State Senator Baldwin and State Representative Goodfellow to move the legislation forward.
