1966 Memorandum on Caddo County's Application for Eligibility under the Public Works and Economic Development Act, 1966-06-08
Scope and Contents
Wallace Kidd contacted Dr. William R. Carmack to inform him that Caddo County's application for eligibility under the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 is based on specific language in the law that allows counties with federal or state Indian reservations or restricted Indian lands to qualify. The application will be presented to the new Commissioner and then sent to Washington for approval. Wallace Kidd expressed the importance of pushing the application through, as the county's industrialization efforts will suffer if they are not allowed to continue under the EDA program. Caddo County was previously linked with Grady County under the program, but Grady County was recently removed from the eligibility list due to improvements in the economy and employment rates.
