House Appropriations Subcommittee Restores Funding for BIA Extension Contract and Euphala Dorm Construction, 1966-01-01 - 1966-12-31
Scope and Contents
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Indian Affairs passed a restoration of $100,000 for the BIA extension contract with OSU, which had been deleted in the Administration budget. This is $25,000 less per year than before, but it salvages most of the program. Edmondson released a statement about this and mentioned that both Senators had requested similar action from the Senate Appropriations Committee. The Subcommittee also restored $75,000 for planning and construction on a dorm in Euphala. Senator Harris has likely already contacted Senator Hayden and Commissioner Bennett about the BIA extension contract.
