Scope and Contents
Congressman Mickey Edwards will lead a Congressional delegation to El Salvador, Panama, and Nicaragua to assess the political and military situations in those countries and observe the electoral process in Nicaragua. The delegation will meet with government and opposition officials and hold news conferences in each country. The trip was organized in response to a request from Secretary of State James A. Baker III to monitor the democratization process in Nicaragua.
