Scope and Contents

The Department of the Interior is investigating a proposal to develop the North Burbank Oil Field on the Osage Reservation in Oklahoma without reducing royalty rates paid to the Osage Tribe. They are also considering a petition for a further hearing on a proposal to unitize and water-flood the lands at reduced royalty rates. Congressman Carl Albert is advocating for the protection of the income of the Osage Indians.
