Scope and Contents

The letter is from Hon. Harvey Rochelle to Hon. Carl Albert, requesting assistance for his nephew William Gibson who has taken the Civil Service examination for a teaching position in the Indian Service. Rochelle mentions that William has a B.S. degree, one year of teaching experience, and served in the Navy during World War 2. He asks for Albert's help in securing an appointment for William at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Albert responds that he will assist in any way he can and offers to write a letter of endorsement to the Superintendent on William's behalf.
