Scope and Contents

Mr. T. Bear from Checotah, Oklahoma, wrote a letter to Congressman Carl Albert on January 15, 1949, expressing concern about the lack of funding in the Budget for the Eufaula Indian Boarding School. He requested Congressman Albert's cooperation in restoring the funds for the school, as it is the only school for Creek Indians and serves children from broken and unsuitable homes. Congressman Albert responded on January 25, 1949, expressing his willingness to help and emphasizing the importance of getting the school back in the budget.
