Correspondence between Carl Albert and Samuel J. Checote Regarding Funding for Eufaula Indian Boarding School in 1950, 1949-01-13
Scope and Contents
The letter is from Samuel J. Checote to Honorable Carl Albert, regarding the possible closing of the Eufaula Indian Boarding School due to lack of funds for the fiscal year of 1950. Checote requests Albert's assistance in obtaining funds to keep the school operating, as it is the only school for Creek Indians and serves orphaned and disadvantaged children. Albert assures Checote that he will do everything he can to restore the appropriations and has expressed this desire to Congressman Stigler.
