Correspondence Regarding the Construction of Talihina-Bengal Road in 1949, 1949-07-22
Scope and Contents
The document consists of a series of correspondence regarding the construction of the Talihina-Bengal Road in Oklahoma. The project has been planned and surveyed by the Five Civilized Tribes Agency, but due to limited funds, construction may not start for at least two years. The road is seen as essential for improving access to the Talihina Indian Hospital and reducing travel distances for the local Indian communities. Congressman Carl Albert is involved in advocating for the early construction of the road.
