Scope and Contents

Congressman Carl Albert announced that both Houses of Congress passed the Second Supplemental Appropriation Bill, which includes $385,000 for the commutation of Choctaw treaty obligations. The President is expected to sign the bill within the next ten days, paving the way for a per capita payment in the fall. The payment will include proceeds from lease-district cases and coal and asphalt sales, with additional funds for the Choctaws from the Commutation Act.
