Scope and Contents

Congressman Carl Albert announced that there is a $385,000 item in the Second Supplemental Appropriation Bill to provide Choctaw per capita payments, as required by the Albert Act. The bill will be brought to the House floor on October 10 and Albert expects it to pass easily. The funds will be distributed along with funds from successful judgments in lease district cases. The Oklahoma Congressional Delegation will request the Bureau of Indian Affairs to begin making payments once the appropriations are finalized.
