Scope and Contents

Congressman Albert successfully pushed for the passage of an appropriation bill through Congress, which has been signed into law by the President. The bill provides for the settlement of old treaty obligations with the Choctaw Tribe for $350,666.67, pending a vote by the Choctaws. The decision to pay all heirs who have proven heirship and provided their addresses will benefit over ten thousand Indians in Southeastern Oklahoma.
