Scope and Contents

Congressman Carl Albert has announced that there is a likelihood of Choctaw per capita payments being made this fall, thanks to the inclusion of a $385,000 item in the Second Supplemental Appropriation Bill. The funds will be used to fulfill treaty obligations with the Choctaws as outlined in the Albert Act. The bill is expected to pass easily in the House and payments will be made as soon as appropriations are finalized.
