Congressman Albert successfully pushed for the passage of an appropriation bill through Congress, which has been signed into law by the President. The bill, authored by the Congressman, provides for the settlement of old treaty obligations with the Choctaw Tribe for $350,666.67, pending a vote by the Choctaws. The Commissioner's decision to pay all heirs who have proven their heirship and have known addresses is expected to benefit over ten thousand Indians in Southeastern Oklahoma.
