Choctaw Treaty Payments Settlement: A Step Towards Resolution, 1950-01-01 - 1950-12-31
Scope and Contents
The Choctaw Indians were given the opportunity to vote on a settlement of treaty payments through a capitalization bill introduced by Congressman Carl Albert. If approved by a majority vote, funds will be distributed to enrolled Choctaws and their heirs, moving towards the ultimate settlement of claims and obligations between the Choctaws and the United States Government.
