Concerns Over Sonic Booms in Oklahoma City, 1964-07-08
Scope and Contents
Miss Olive Cousins wrote a critical letter to U.S. Senator Mike Monroney expressing concerns about the sonic boom project in Oklahoma City. She questioned the necessity of the project, the lack of insurance for property damage, and the impact on residents. She urged Senator Monroney to consider the needs of the "little" voters of Oklahoma and not to straddle the fence on this issue. Senator Monroney responded, defending the project and acknowledging the concerns of residents, but also expressing his commitment to bettering Oklahoma and hoping to change Miss Cousins' critical attitude towards him.
