Concerns Over Sonic Booms and Rural Electricity, 1964-05-27
Scope and Contents
Mrs. Emerson is writing to Senator Mike Moroney expressing her concerns about the sonic boom studies in Oklahoma City causing damage to homes. She feels that many Democrats have turned Republican because of the issue and questions the Senator's support for the project. She also mentions the success of private and rural electric companies in Oklahoma. Senator Moroney responds by explaining that the Federal Aviation Agency consulted with many people before scheduling the project in the city and assures that damages will be paid for. He also acknowledges the distress caused by the booms and the success of both private and rural electric companies working together.
