Concerns about Sonic Boom Testing in Oklahoma City, 1964-03-23

Scope and Contents

The letter acknowledges Mrs. Drennan's concerns about the sonic boom studies being conducted in Oklahoma City by the Federal Aviation Agency. The FAA promised to address complaints and pay damage claims. Civic leaders supported the testing in hopes of attracting aviation industries to Central Oklahoma. The FAA has issued a pamphlet about the program in response to public reaction. Mrs. Drennan urges Senator Monroney to stop the sonic boom tests due to the damage they are causing to homes and health.
