Mr. Chapman wrote to Senator Monroney expressing his opposition to the sonic boom tests being conducted over Oklahoma City, citing concerns about potential damage to masonry structures and the nuisance caused by the tests. Senator Monroney responded by informing Chapman that the FAA had endorsed the project and promised to investigate any reports of damage and pay legitimate claims. Senator Monroney also provided Chapman with a pamphlet about the program.
