Mediation and Arbitration Bill for Navajo and Hopi Indian Tribes Land Disputes: H.R. 7679 of the 93rd Congress, 1967-01-01 - 1974-12-31

This bill proposes the creation of a Navajo-Hopi Board of Arbitration to mediate and settle conflicting interests between the Navajo and Hopi Indian Tribes regarding lands within the joint use area of the Hopi Reservation and the Navajo Reservation. The Board will be composed of three members and will receive compensation for their services. If the parties fail to reach an agreement within a specified timeframe, further provisions will become operative.
