Scope and Contents
The Menominee Restoration Act, introduced in the House of Representatives in 1973, aimed to repeal the Act terminating Federal supervision over the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and restore Federal services to them. The Act extended Federal recognition to the tribe, repealed previous legislation, and established procedures for electing a Menominee Restoration Committee and updating the tribal membership roll. It also mandated an election for the tribe's constitution and bylaws within a specified timeframe.
