Scope and Contents
James R. Jones, a member of Congress from Oklahoma, received a letter from a constituent regarding facsimile checks received from a direct mail organization. Jones' staff researched the legitimacy of the checks and found that they contained substantial overstatements of grant amounts and purposes. Jones assured the constituent that he would monitor unnecessary grants in the future.
