Supporting Research for Neurological Diseases: A Plea for Increased Funding, 1952-01-22
Scope and Contents
Mrs. Katherine M. Baker is writing to Mr. George B. Schwab, a member of the appropriations subcommittee on Labor, to request an increased appropriation of eight million dollars for the Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness in the 1953 budget. She explains that there is a great need for research and study to aid individuals with multiple sclerosis, including her son-in-law and acquaintances who are afflicted with the disease. Mrs. Baker believes that with more funding, a cure or aid for those with neurological diseases can be found. She urges Mr. Schwab to support this increased appropriation in the budget planning.
