Letter Urging Congressional Support for Increased Funding for Neurological Disease and Blindness Research, 1952, 1952-01-17
Scope and Contents
The author of the letter is urging Congressman George B. Schwab to support the 1953 budget item that would allocate $8 million for the National Institute of Neurological Disease and Blindness. The author explains that there are 250,000 people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) and that medical science has not been able to help them. The author believes that with government support, more research could be done to help these individuals, including the author's daughter who has been afflicted with M.S. for five years.
