Scope and Contents

Mrs. L.S. McArthur from Tulsa, Oklahoma, wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe expressing agreement with Herbert Hoover's stance on foreign policy. She believes that the US should not send troops to Europe and that decisions on sending troops should be left to Congress. She also believes that if European countries do not have the will to defend themselves, the US should not intervene. Hoover, in a radio speech, also emphasized the importance of thoughtful consideration and discussion before making decisions that could impact American life for the next 100 years.
