Suggestion for Amending Policy on Veterans' Business Ownership, 1946-09-27
Scope and Contents
Mr. Thompson, a veteran and small business owner, wrote to Congressman Schwabe in Washington, D.C. suggesting a change in the policy of the War Assets Administration regarding veteran certification for purchasing government surplus property. He believes that veterans should only need to benefit 51% from the business, rather than have 51% invested. He and his brother, both veterans, are unable to purchase surplus equipment because they do not meet the current investment requirement. Mr. Thompson hopes for a more favorable policy for veterans in this matter.
