Supporting Bills for the Benefit of Service Men: Correspondence between R.R. Shaffer and Honorable George Schwabe, 1946-05-07
Scope and Contents
Mr. and Mrs. Shaffer wrote to Honorable George Schwabe expressing their support for several bills benefiting service men, including full pension for disabled service members and terminal leave pay for enlisted personnel. They also opposed a bill to suspend the restricted immigration law. Schwabe responded, stating he may not support the bill introduced by Senator Maybank but will consider the other bills and hopes his vote will meet with their approval. He enclosed printed copies of the bills for their reference.
